Tagit RFID Solutions JLT organized and hosted the Jewellery RFID Working® seminar on 8th June 2010 in Almas Tower, also the site of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, Dubai Diamond Exchange and the Dubai Pearl Exchange. Jewellery RFID Working® unveiled the future of Jewellery RFID tagging. It marked the launch of the “NLOS Solitaire RFID tag”, this is a barcode with radio frequency identification combined onto individual tagging labels that get attached to each jewellery item – these RFID tags are a growing innovation in jewellery inventory management.

A complete working and functional demonstration of Tagit Ice, the RFID jewellery solution was also setup. Tagit Ice includes the NLOS Solitaire RFID tags, Tagit Consignment Box, Tagit Mobile Unit, Tagit Ice software and the award winning Tagit RFID Middleware application. Tagit Ice is the product of American technology combined with European precision, engineered to serve the diamond jewellery industry. The TAGIT Consignment Box (TCB) is RF Shielded and equipped with two circularly polarized scanners. It allows the users to put up to 10 trays of diamond jewellery carrying about 6 pieces each, have the items counted in split seconds and tag data captured onto the computer screen. The consignment box is the first specialized RFID device in the world which is fully compatible with most of the ERP solutions. At Jewellery RFID Working® TCB 2.0 was also launched, having a high RF output intensified for denser and faster reading. The TCB 2.0 is able to read through trays, pouches and bundled jewellery instantly.

The event was highlighted with speeches from Mr. Vadivelu, CFO Rosy Blue and Mr. Mamdouh Khairallah, National After Sales Manager & Regional Manager Sharjah and Northern Emirates, AGMC (BMW Importer).

Talking about the experience with Tagit RFID Solutions and Tagit Ice Mr. Vadivelu said “Tagit ICE has helped us a lot in bulk counting operations. Stock going out for customer viewing and bulk stock sold is all scanned instantaneously now and has shown ROI in manpower and time savings.”

The exhibition also marked the unveiling of CARID, the singular solution for automotive dealerships that tracks vehicles from the time they come into a facility and gives a detailed report on the movement across various steps of the service cycle. It allows for automated alerts to concerned staff, visibility to clients and faster turnaround. “For every 10 minutes saved on a car, translates into 3 Million AED in annual savings. This is through savings in time of the staff at all levels, reduction in turnaround time and customer satisfaction” Mr. Mamdouh pointed out.
