| What is RFID? | - Radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology uses radio waves to transfer data between reader and any movable item to identify, categorize or track.
- RFID technoloy is fast, accurate and does not require physical contact between reader/scanner and the tagged item.
- RFID tag requires no line of sight of the reader to scan or identify an object.
- RFID tags can be read hundreds at a time unlike bar codes which can only be read one at a time.
- RFID tags can be placed inside containers or on surfaces that are not in the line of sight from the scanner.
